Each year, KU Transportation Research Institute conducts a periodic solicitation for proposals under its federally sponsored research program. KU TRI is pleased to have funded about 40 projects over the past two years and is excited to be funding another 10 projects this year. All submitted proposals are reviewed by external and internal peer-reviewers who rank the proposals on the following criteria: intellectual merit, relevance to KU TRI’s goals, the state and national transportation research agenda. Over the past three RFP cycles, KU TRI received over a hundred transportation related proposals. Every project involves KU faculty and students from across campus, and many involve multiple faculty collaborating from different disciplines looking at various transportation issues. A summary about past and present research projects along with the published journal articles are available and are searchable by principle investigator, thrust area and year.
